Promoting a culture of Discernment in Common and Ignatian Spirituality
A group of both lay collaborators and Jesuits participated actively in the discernment process to draft the PAP for the Retreat and Ignatian Spirituality ministries. The group began by sharing the rich contributions of the Ignatian heritage to the Church and felt the need to reclaim our Ignatian spirituality as our way of life – permeating all our apostolates. With the goal of promoting a culture of ‘discernment in common’ in our lives and ministries, the group proposed partnering with Jnana Deep to conduct training of trainers, of both Jesuits and collaborators, in the art of Ignatian discernment and directing retreats. The training program will focus on the characteristics of Ignatian discernment and will be designed to cover themes appealing to all faith traditions. The trained persons will form the resource teams for each ministry to conduct training sessions in Ignatian discernment for co-workers/stakeholders in their respective ministries. Through the envisaged process and activities, Ignatian discernment in common will revitalize and permeate our lives and engagement in all our apostolates.
